Now in its 24th year, the Gear of the Year Awards are brought to you by Bauer, publisher of the UK’s leading photography magazines, Digital Photo and Practical Photography, as well as our successful new website www.photoanswers.co.uk

All categories, other than retailer awards which will continue to be decided by Reader Votes, will be debated and judged by a panel of experts from both our own specialist technology journalists and invited experts from the world of retail.

This year a shortlist of entries will be put together by our technical experts with manufacturers and panel of retail judges.

The UK’s biggest-selling and most influential photography magazines, Digital Photo and Practical Photography, host the prestigious Gear of the Year Awards.

Digital Photo
The market-leading photography magazine has an audited monthly circulation of 68,687**, and a massive national readership figure of 365,000* making it the number 1 selling photographic magazine in the market.

Practical Photography
One of the longest established photography magazines celebrating it’s 50th year with a audited circulation in 2008 of 56,003** and a huge National readership figure of 326,000*.

As a result of these impressive figures, the titles account for nearly a third of all photography magazines sold at the newsstand.

Photo answers
In November 2007 we launched our new photo website www.photoanswers.co.uk
Since its arrival, the site regularly attracts over 116,000 unique users, is delivering over 1,314,000 page impressions per month, and has over 49,000 registered users and rising!
The addition of Photo answers to the Bauer photography portfolio enhances advertisers’ opportunities to reach the largest audience of photographers available.
